While FYTT is an extremely powerful platform, you can get your first programs out the door in 10 minutes or less. This quick guide will walk you through the basics.
Create a team
A team allows you to manage a roster of athletes, and to organize their training programs and training data. To create a new team, navigate to your institution dashboard, and click the button to create a new team.
Add athletes
After creating a team, you should land on an empty roster, where you can quickly add athletes with the athlete import tool.
The import tool is a spreadsheet interface that allows you to type in or copy/paste athlete info directly into the sheet. Once you've got the info entered, you have two options:
Import only: Click the import button to create inactive profiles for the given athletes. This allows you to get everything built out and organized, then invite the athletes when you're ready to activate their accounts and start training.
Import & invite: Click the "Import & invite" button to create the athlete profiles and invite them to activate now.
Deploy training
Once your athletes are on the roster, you're ready to build and deploy training instructions. You can deploy training to the entire team, to groups of athletes, or to individual athletes.
Create groups
Within each team roster, you can add athletes to different groups to organize them by position, skill level, age, training objective, or whatever grouping construct makes the most sense for you.
To create a group, head back to the roster, then click the "Groups" button in the top right of the screen to create a group.
After creating your groups, you can select athletes on the roster and use the grouping tools to quickly add athletes to the appropriate groups.
Create a plan
With athletes properly grouped, you're ready to deploy training. There's a number of ways to deploy training with FYTT, but plans are often the preferred method. Plans allow you to easily organize training for many athletes and groups with varying timelines and training objectives.
Head to the team's plans section and create a new plan by giving it a name, a start date, and an end date.
Plan timelines
You can create plans for whatever timeline you need. The timeline should mirror whatever training period makes sense for you—in-season, off-season, annual plan, competition prep, etc.
Create a program
Once you've created your plan, add a new program to the plan by click the add button in the first cell of the "add program" row, and click the "New program" button.
Give the program a name, and specify its length in weeks, and select who it is being programmed for (the team, a group, or an athlete). After it's created, you'll see it laid out on the timeline.
Click on the program's name in the row header on the left to enter the program builder.
Create a workout
After clicking into the program, you'll see each week of the program laid out with spots for a workout on each day of the week. Click on a program day to open it up, the click the "New block" button to start creating workouts.
Give the block a name
Add a set to the block
Specify the set parameters (reps, weight, time, etc.)
Fill in the prescribed values for each set attribute
Execute training
After you've added a workout to a day in the program, you can head over to the team's calendar, and you'll see the workout show up on the date where you added it.
At this point, you're ready to execute the workout. There are a number of ways to execute training depending on what works best for your athletes.
In-person with calendar tools like the digital whiteboard or TV view
Through the mobile interface
Through the tablet interface
And now you're up and running!
