Password reset

Reset a forgotten password, get a new link when one has expired, and sign out

Written by Todd Miller

If you've forgotten your password, you can email yourself a link to choose a new one. This guide covers resetting your password, what to do when a link says it has expired, what a coach can and can't do for an athlete, and how to sign out.

Requesting a reset link

  1. On the Sign in page, click Forgot your password? (1) under the Sign in button. In the FYTT app, it's in the same place.

  2. On Reset your password, enter the Email (1) on your account and click Email me a link (2).

  3. The Check your email page confirms the address the link went to. If it doesn't arrive, click Resend the email, or Wrong address? to try a different one.

If FYTT doesn't recognize the address, the page says so under Email. Check the spelling, or ask your coach which address they used for you.

You can also reach this page when you're signed in. In the FYTT app, open Account settings, tap Change password, then tap Forgot your password?.

Choosing a new password

Click the link in the email. On Choose a new password, enter a New password, type it again in Confirm password, and click Save and sign in. The password needs:

  • 8 characters or more

  • An uppercase letter

  • A lowercase letter

  • A number

  • A special character

You're signed in as soon as it's saved. On a phone, the link may open in your browser rather than the FYTT app; that's expected. Sign in to the app with the new password afterwards.

If a coach added you to a roster and you never activated your account, the same reset link activates it. See Athlete access for invites and activation.

Link expired or invalid

Each link works once, for 6 hours

A link stops working 6 hours after it's sent, once it's been used, or when you ask for another one. Only the newest email counts.

A link that no longer works opens This link has expired. Click Email me a new link (1) to get a fresh one, sent to the same address. If the page can't tell which account the link was for, enter your email in Send it to first. Then use the link in the newest email.

The link signed me straight in

If you're already signed in in the browser where the link opens, FYTT shows You're already signed in instead of the new-password form. Continue to FYTT takes you to your training without changing your password. To reset it, click Sign out and use this link, and the new-password form opens.

Resetting a password for an athlete

Coaches can't see or set an athlete's password, and the reset email only goes to the address on the account. To help an athlete who's locked out:

  • They've never signed in: resend their invite from the roster, or fix their email first if it's wrong. See Athlete access.

  • They're active: send them to Forgot your password? on the sign-in page. If they no longer have access to that email, contact FYTT support.

Signing out

  • On the web: click your avatar at the top right and choose Logout.

  • In the FYTT app: open Profile, tap the gear to open Settings, and tap Logout.

Single sign-on

FYTT doesn't support single sign-on (SSO) or signing in with a Google or Microsoft account. Everyone signs in with their email and a FYTT password.
