Billing & Your FYTT subscription

Manage your FYTT subscription, payment methods, and invoices

Written by Eric Wynalek

Your FYTT subscription is what keeps your institution's account active — it's billed to you as the coach or organization, separate from any payments your athletes make in your Store. This guide covers your plan, updating your payment method, and what happens if a payment fails.

Billing lives under your institution's settings and is only visible to institution leaders, so it won't clutter the experience for coaches or athletes who don't need it.

Plans

FYTT is sold in tiers, each bundling a different set of features. Tiers are priced monthly or yearly, and every tier defines its own feature set — some capabilities are only available on higher tiers, while a set of base features is included on every tier regardless of what you pick. You can compare tiers and their included features from the pricing page.

Trial period

When you sign up for a new account, your institution gets a trial period before a subscription is required — no payment method needed up front, so you can explore FYTT with your team before committing. If you subscribe directly from the pricing page instead (for example, using a "Buy Now" link), you're taken straight to Stripe Checkout rather than starting a trial. See the getting started guide for setting up your institution during your trial.

Comparing tiers

The pricing page lists every active tier side by side, each with its own name and description, alongside a feature grid showing exactly which features are included on which tier — hover any feature for a short explanation of what it does.

Subscribing (and switching tiers)

Subscribing is handled by Stripe Checkout — choose a tier and billing interval (yearly is the default option, with monthly available as an alternative), and you're redirected to a secure Stripe-hosted page to enter your payment details. Once checkout completes, your institution is marked as subscribed and the tier's features unlock immediately. To move to a different tier later, go through the same flow from the pricing page — it starts a new checkout for the tier you select.

Updating your payment method

From the Billing area, your current card is shown by brand and last four digits. Select Update Payment Method to enter a new card — this replaces the card on file for all future subscription charges. If your account was past due, updating your payment method also attempts to pay your outstanding invoice right away, so a successful update can bring your institution back online in the same step.

When a subscription lapses

Two separate things can restrict access — it's worth knowing the difference:

  • Trial expired, no subscription — once your trial ends without an active subscription, institution leaders see a "Trial expired" prompt directing them to view plans and subscribe. The interface is blurred and locked until you subscribe.

  • Payment failed (past due) — if a scheduled payment fails, your account is marked past due and FYTT attempts to reach the account owner about updating payment information. If the issue isn't resolved after repeated failed attempts, access is locked entirely until payment is reinstated. Updating your card and successfully paying the outstanding invoice restores access immediately.

Only leaders see billing prompts

Trial and past-due prompts are shown to institution leaders only, so day-to-day coaches and athletes aren't interrupted by them. Ask whoever manages your account to update payment details if your institution is locked out.

Managing or cancelling your subscription

From the Billing area, select Manage Subscription to see your subscription's status and current billing period, or to cancel. Cancelling ends your subscription immediately — your data stays intact, but you lose access to FYTT's functionality until you subscribe again or the institution is deleted.

Who can manage billing

Billing is restricted to institution leaders — they're the only ones who can view the Billing area, update the payment method, subscribe, or cancel the subscription. Coaches without a leader role and athletes don't see billing controls at all, and can't be shown the trial-expired or past-due prompts either — if your institution loses access, it's a leader who needs to step in.

Becoming a FYTT reseller

If your institution is set up as a FYTT reseller, leaders get access to a reseller dashboard and a referral link — institutions that sign up through your link earn you a share of their subscription revenue. This is a separate, invite-based program set up in partnership with FYTT; contact FYTT support if you're interested in becoming a reseller.

Athlete payments are separate

This billing account covers your institution's FYTT subscription only. If you charge your own athletes for programs or memberships, that's handled through your Store — a separate, Stripe Connect-based setup with its own payment methods and purchase history, using its own Stripe account rather than the one tied to your FYTT subscription.
