Leaderboards rank your athletes on the metrics you choose, like a 40-yard dash, a vertical jump, or a max squat, so they can see where they stand. This guide covers building a leaderboard, choosing what each metric ranks, putting a board on a TV, and what athletes see in the app.
Creating a leaderboard
Click Leaderboard in the team's navigation to open the Leaderboards page.
Click New Leaderboard (1).
Enter a Name and click Create leaderboard.
The new board opens straight away. It's empty until you add metrics to it.
Coaches and trainers on the team, and institution managers, can create and change leaderboards. Observers can view them but don't see New Leaderboard, Settings, or Add Metric.
Adding metrics
Each metric on a board is its own ranking, shown as a column. Click Add Metric (3) at the top of the board to open the Add metric panel.
Metric: the metric to rank athletes on. Search by name.
Name: the column's title. It defaults to the metric's name.
Date range: which measurements count (see below).
Rank by: Best or Most recent (see below).
Rounding: No rounding, Nearest whole, or Nearest five.
Groups: rank only athletes in these groups. Leave it empty to rank the whole team.
Click Add metric to add the column to the board.
To change a metric later, click its pencil icon to open Edit metric. Delete in that panel removes the metric from the board. To reorder the columns, drag a metric by its handle next to the pencil icon.
Time window and result
Date range sets the window of measurements the ranking looks at: Today, Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days, Last 180 Days, Last 360 Days, All Time, or Custom Range. Every choice except Custom Range rolls forward, so Last 30 Days always means the 30 days ending today. A custom range stays fixed to the dates you pick.
Rank by picks which of an athlete's measurements in that window counts:
Best: their best result in the window. Use it for PR boards.
Most recent: their latest result in the window, even if it's not their best. Use it for current-form boards like readiness or body weight.
Athletes with no measurement in the window don't appear on that metric.
Rank direction
You don't choose whether higher or lower wins on the leaderboard. It comes from the metric's own Ranking direction, Higher is better or Lower is better, and the same setting decides what counts as an athlete's best.
Sprint times ranking backwards?
If a timed metric puts the slowest athlete first, its Ranking direction is set to Higher is better. Change it to Lower is better on the metric itself. See Metrics.
Reading a leaderboard
Each metric shows its window and Rank by choice under its name. The top three athletes stand on a podium: first place in the center with a trophy, second and third on either side. Everyone from fourth place down is listed below. Until at least three athletes have a result, the metric shows Not enough data to show rankings.
An open leaderboard refreshes on its own when an athlete on the team logs a workout, so there's no need to reload it.
TV mode
Click TV mode (1) to put the board on a monitor in the weight room. TV mode hides the app's navigation and shows the team and leaderboard name across the top. Press Esc to leave it, or hover over the top of the screen and click the close icon that appears in the top-right corner.
What athletes see
Athletes find every leaderboard on their team under Rankings (1) in the FYTT mobile app's tab bar. Each board is a card showing how many metrics it holds, the first metric's top three, and the athlete's own row, labeled You, when they're outside the top three. Athletes on more than one team switch teams from the bar at the top of the screen.
Tapping a card opens the board. Athletes switch between its metrics with the chips across the top, and Your rank (1) stays pinned at the bottom with their place and how far they are behind the athlete one spot ahead, or Top of the board when they lead.
Turning off athlete rankings
There's no setting that hides Rankings from athletes. The tab is always in the mobile app, and it shows every leaderboard on the athlete's teams. Leaderboards have no coach-only option.
To stop athletes from seeing rankings, delete the team's leaderboards. With none left, Rankings shows No boards yet. Limiting a metric to Groups changes who is ranked, not who can see the board.
Deleting a leaderboard can't be undone
Deleting a board removes it and its metric setup for good. The athletes' measurements aren't affected, so you can build the board again later.
Renaming or deleting a leaderboard
Click Settings (2) on the board. Change the Name and click Save changes, or click Delete, then Delete leaderboard in the Delete this leaderboard? dialog.
